Grilled Cheese?

OK, so this has really nothing to do with anything...BUT I have decided to have TWO Grilled Cheese Sandwiches for my "late night" snack (It's only 9:45 MST) but, hey...that is LATE NIGHT for me.  I love to write and obviously do many other creative things but ....writing this blog is well, on my back burner...as I belive I have said before.  So, anyway, getting on with my Grilled Cheese post..

I am having TWO Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, LACTAID..don't fail me now.  But, of course, if you do...that is fine, too.  I won't feel guilty for consuming TWO Grilled Cheese Sandwiches because they won't stay with me too long.  Lactose Intolerance:  Blessing and a Curse..   If you are at home, eat up.  If you are not at home, DO NOT EAT DAIRY.  A great diet plan... you should try it sometime.

Have a fabulous weekend,

My rhyme

Humming a tune, as I sit in my chair
Covered in fabric with thread in my hair
The Singer is buzzing as I stitch with care
Cute little dresses for the fairest of fair.

I have been a busy girl, making these dresses
for the divas to twirl.
I lose track of time while I'm sewing away and
wonder where the time goes at the end of each day.

Wanted to share where this magic takes place.
So thankful for hubby, he helped me organize my space!

Changing Direction

Greetings... I  know, I know.. been a long time.  I'm still trying to work out this "time management" thing.  I wear many hats around here and getting them all to fit, with the perfect outfit, at the same time is quite a challenge!  I love being a stay at home mom (sometimes single parent), an army wife, a daughter, a great friend, a business owner, a writer, an advocate for the earth, a seamstress, oh, a housekeeper, a taxi driver, a personal shopper, a mail lady, a chef, a volunteer, and a follower of God!

Making all these things fit perfectly into my day is a bit much sometimes.. I have found that trying to all these things 100% has left me a bit tired and overwhelmed.  So, with that, I am changing directions here.  I will continue to do the things that are important to me. And honestly, ALL of the above mentioned things are important to me so it will be a struggle to nix some things.  I may just start with housekeeping..LOL

Anyway, I know you get the picture,  I am will be spending more time at my Singer as I have decided that sewing is something I truly love.  I am participating in 3 fall festivals over the next 2 months!  I'm excited about turning towards my passion of sewing and making that my focus.  As Oprah says, "Get paid to do what you love".

Looking forward to our next chat.  Hopefully it won't be a month away, but I can't promise anything!

Until then,
Misty

Perfect

You gotta read this!

So, I have adorned myself this morning in my workout attire.  Yes, it doesn't happen often but I've got to get back on track after my 2 month vacation to Tennessee & Georgia.  My dear dear 7 year old son says, "Mom, that looks PERFECT on you!"

Wow!  I think I have found my new daily outfit.  We are headed off for a stroll around the neighborhood in this beautiful Colorado morning weather.

Have a fabulous day and by all means, put on your workout attire..  I'm sure it looks PERFECT on you, too.

Making Choices

Just the other day, I had a "light bulb" moment.  My dear sweet mother asked me how much I paid for my carton of free range, vegan fed eggs.  I told her and she was appalled.  I felt as though I should explain myself and this is how it went:

I am a shopper...a bargain shopper... Yes, I had a coupon for those little eggs.  I am saying that I like a good deal but I also CHOOSE QUALITY over quantity..any day of the week.  I have been on this mission for 7 years, just after the birth of my first son.

I know that times are tough and the economy, jobs, and money, is just well, not always there for us.  With that being said, I am aware of grocery budget struggles but I totally believe that we have to make choices for our family and for our environment that will benefit them both in the long run.

If you had the CHOICE to reduce the amount of toxic chemicals in your home and the toxins that you feed your family, oh and the carbon footprint, what choice would you make?  People, People, People..(come on people in the stands, come on people clap your hands)..ok, sorry got carried away with my cheering section but really... Get educated on what matters.  We are all in this together and we can make a difference if we make better choices in our shopping habits.

Think of all the dollars you can save by making better choices.  I'm not going into all the hoopla of medicine and doctors and basically throwing money in the trash with disposable diapers but you know where I'm going with this..right?

I made the choice 6 years ago to change my cleaning, laundry, dishcare products to non toxic..You can go here for more info on that: http://www.livetotalwellness.com/mistygillette   And yes, I used disposable diapers on my first son..."GASP". but I was uneducated and did not make all the right choices but I did START somewhere and that is all you have to do... Start somewhere...for crying outloud.

Ok...Ok... I won't throw all this at you at once (well, maybe I did) but please..consider what I have said and think about what you are doing in your house daily that is affecting the health of your family.  You may not realize it instantly (Instant gratification is the downfall of America..IMO) but 5, 10, 20 years down the road, you will <3 yourself for making better choices for YOU and your family.

My 2 cents..choices..easy, easy to make choices.  Hard, hard to make the right ones...

On The Road Again

Hello there followers...  Yes, been a while, again.  My goal for the very near future is that I may entertain with my blogs daily.  I know..exhilarating, right?  I do have a love of writing and long to share my witty brain with you.  Not only to entertain you but to also inform, educate, and mesmerize you.  I know, I know... you're on the edge of your seat waiting for the next post.

Not to worry, they will come.  As you see from the title, "On The Road Again"...  I am about to head west back to Colorado.  I have enjoyed my long stay here in the great state of Tennessee, my home sweet home, but it's time to get back to my side of town.

I am looking forward to our future together and sharing with you.

My ode to Willie...
